OUR MISSION STATEMENT
Out of the Blue Theatre Company is a new student theatre group on campus specializing in experimental, unconventional, and innovative theater. We aim to create an inclusive space for all artists and audiences to challenge the theatrical and societal norms in new and creative ways.
MEET THE TEAM
Amy Lyn Williams
Executive Director
Amy Williams is a third-year Theater major with a Musical Theatre emphasis at UCLA’s School of Theater, Film and Television. Over the summer, she founded Out of the Blue Theatre Company with Lauren Stevens and is currently acting as the Executive Director. She has been involved with various other student theater groups on campus as a performer, but is excited to be working behind the scenes on upcoming projects. On behalf of all of the Out of the Blue family, we are so grateful for all the incredible artists that have shared their work and talents through this debut season and cannot wait for the world to see what they’ve created!
Lauren Stevens
Artistic Director
Lauren Stevens is a second-year Theater Major with an emphasis in Musical Theater at the UCLA School of Theatre, Film, and Television. She founded Out of the Blue Theatre Company with Amy Williams and is currently acting as the Artistic Director. Lauren loves creating unique and out-of-the-box theater productions and she cannot wait to see what the future holds for Out of the Blue Theatre Company!
Julia Ribas
Diversity and Accessibility Director
Julia Ribas is a third-year Musical Theatre emphasis in the School of Theatre, Film, and Television at UCLA. She is originally from the Seattle area but has lived abroad in Barcelona and London, where she discovered a passion for theatre. After serving her high school community, both as the president of the Latinx Club and as a member of the Diversity Council, Julia is passionate about making theatre accessible to people of all ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds. She looks forward to pursuing partnerships with other educational groups on campus in order to unite our campus community through the arts!
Paulyne Youri
Publicity and Marketing Manager
Paulyne Youri is a fourth-year Theater major with an emphasis in Acting with a minor in Film and Television. She joined the Out of the Blue team because of its mission to make experimental and immersive theatre accessible to the UCLA community during the unprecedented times of Covid. She is excited to be a part of a company that continues to make theater happen even while we are all in a virtual setting. Paulyne is excited to see how the company continues to grow and is looking forward to collaborating with you in the future!
Samantha Womack
Media Manager
Sammy Womack is a second-year Business Economics major, Film/ TV & Theater minors. She joined the Out of The Blue team because of its desire to put out experimental and immersive theatre. She loves collaborating with fellow artists and being a part of making incredible and unique productions happen. Her interests lie in design, production management, and creative producing. She is so thankful to be part of the Out of the Blue family, and is looking forward to all the incredible things that Out of the Blue's future holds!
Justin Kelley-Cahill
Production Manager
Justin Kelley-Cahill is a Theater major studying scenic design and stage management at UCLA’s School of Theater, Film, and Television. Justin is super interested in new works, experimental theatre, and especially immersive theatre which at Out of The Blue, we really strive to do in our seasons and in our shows. He is super excited to work with both theatre majors and non-theatre majors. He loves working with people and just seeing different perspectives and ideas and how we can bring those together to make something beautiful; something that catches people’s eyes. Justin can’t wait to work with all of you in the future!
Melissa Ramondelli
Events Coordinator
Melissa Ramondelli is a second-year Theatre major with an emphasis in Musical Theater. Melissa believes that it is so important to feel your passion for theatre along with your peers and be able to maintain those relationships, especially in times of Covid, and is trying to create that with the UCLA community via the virtual setting of the time being. She was eager to join this company is because of its desire to go out of the box and be experimental especially during such uncertain times. Melissa is so excited to see what’s to come!
